Protection Policy

I take great care to safeguard personal data provided by my clients and to process this data fairly and lawfully in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998  and the new General Data Protection Regulations 2018 (GDPR)


I request the minimum level of personally identifying information to run the business effectively. This is data you provide directly, for example your name and contact details. I will never obtain information about you indirectly from sources outside of my business.

When providing details about yourself you can be confident that:

·   Any information you provide is confidential and secure.

·   I will always endeavour to keep accurate and up to date information on you.

·   I will not share or sell your details to other organisations, for example marketing or fundraising purposes.

·   You have the right to request access to the data I hold on you, and the right to request that the data is deleted.

In accordance with GDPR regulations, I am obliged to retain documented evidence of individuals opting in to receive communications from me, either electronically, on paper or face-to-face. This data is filed in a client database.

 

I adhere to an opt-in system for my emails, so will only ever send emails to those who have requested them. You can remove yourself from the mailing list anytime via the link to unsubscribe at the bottom of every email or by emailing hello@tashmeliareiki.com  and requesting your email address is removed from the list. If you wish, you can also request all data held on you is deleted. 

You have the right to request a copy of all data held on you, as well as the 'right to be forgotten' (request that all data held on you is deleted or anonymised). If you would like to exercise your right to request your data, or be forgotten, please email to let me know and I will implement your request within the required 30 days.


Retaining your information

Any client treatment notes taken during your Reiki session will be securely stored in a locked cabinet. For the purpose of legal protection and in accordance with my insurance and professional body requirements, I am required to hold the personal information you have given to me in the course of providing you with treatment and the notes about those treatments for a minimum of ten years. Ten years after your last treatment I will permanently delete all your personal information that I hold.

If you withdraw your consent during the ten-year retention period, I will archive your data until the ten-year period expires. Whilst your information is archived, I will not access or process it in any way except if needed for legal protection or if I am required to do so by law.

Contact and communication through the website

Clients contacting me through this website do so at their own discretion and provide any such personal details requested at their own risk. This includes using third-party payment systems such as PayPal. Your personal information is kept private and stored securely until a time it is no longer required or has no use. Where clearly stated and where you have given your express permission, I may use your details to send you products/services information through a mailing list system. This is done in accordance with the regulations named in the Tash Melia Reiki policy above.

Cookies

Cookies are small files saved to the user’s computer hard drive that track, save and store information about the user’s interactions and usage of the website.  Cookies help analyse data about web page traffic and improve website performance. A cookie in no way gives access to any information about you, other than the data you choose to share. You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can modify your browser to decline cookies if you prefer.

Social media policy

I adopt a Social Media Policy to ensure my business conducts itself accordingly online. While I may have official profiles on social media platforms, users are advised to verify the authenticity of such profiles before engaging with or sharing information with such profiles. I will never ask for user passwords or personal details on social media platforms. Users are advised to conduct themselves appropriately when engaging on social media. There may be instances where this website features social sharing buttons, which help share web content directly from web pages to the respective social media platforms. You use social sharing buttons at your own discretion and accept that doing so may publish content to your social media profile feed or page.
